United Healthcare/Southern NH University

Brief Description: 5k trail race at Heads Pond trail - (intersection of Hooksett Road and Post Road, Hooksett, NH) - ending at the Hooksett Public Library. The nickname for the race is "Book It To The Library". On the northern end of Post Road and at Hooksett Library.

Registration: On Line Pre-Registration is open through 9/16/12. Late Registration will take place at the following days and times: Thursday, 9/20/12 4:00-7:00 PM Hooksett Library; Friday, 9/21/12 4:00-7:00 PM Hooksett Library; Saturday, 9/22/12 7:00-8:00 AM Hooksett Library (Any transfer of registration without approval by the race committee will automatically disqualify the runner.). T-shirt and Bib Pick Up: T-shirts will be provided to the first 125 registrants. We will try to honor your size requests. You may pick up your T-shirt and bibs prior to the race on the following days and times: Thursday, 9/20/12 4:00-7:00 PM Hooksett Library; Friday, 9/21/12 4:00-7:00 PM Hooksett Library; Saturday, 9/22/12 7:00-8:00 AM Hooksett Library.

Shuttle Service Day of Race: Shuttle Service Day of Race: There will be shuttles available to take you from the CIGNA parking lot to the Hooksett Library and to the Heads Pond Trail head on race day. They will circle between all three locations all morning before the race starts. The race ends at the library parking lot. Shuttles will be available to take you to the CIGNA parking lot after the race.

Age Groups: Male and Female Age Groups for the United Healthcare/Southern NH University 5k trail race: 17 & Under, 18-35, 36-49 and 50 +.

Awards: Cash awards will be given for top overall male and female 1st and 2nd place winners.  1st = $100 and 2nd = $50.  Medals will be given for 1st and 2nd place in each age group, male and female.  There will also be several other random drawings for all registrants.

Amenities: Refreshments will be provided after the race. Digital clocks will be provided at the mile markers.

Sponsors: United Healthcare, Southern New Hampshire University, Hooksett Library, Blue Ribbon Fence, Northeast Delta Dental, Bank of New Hampshire, Gosselin Insurance, Allstate Insurance, Barrett Insurance, White Birch Brewing and Dryer Management.

Restrictions: For the safety of all runners, walkers and local traffic: Please no dogs, strollers/jogging strollers or headphones.

Directions: Heads Pond Trail is located at the corner of Hooksett Road and Post Road, across from Green's Marine.

 Parking Details for Day of Race: All parking for runners/walkers/volunteers will be at CIGNA Healthcare, 2 College Park Drive, Hooksett, NH. (This is across from the Library - across US Route 3.  There will be vans available to shuttle everyone to the Library or to the start of race and back to the parking lot after the race.  Everyone is strongly encouraged to use the van shuttles and not walk across route 3 for their own safety.  Out of courtesy to the neighbors who live around the Library, please do not park in their neighborhoods.

Additional Information: The Hooksett Kiwanis 5k race, sponsored by United Healthcare, Inc. and Southern New Hampshire University will hold late registration at the Hooksett Public Library on Race day beginning at 7:00 AM and ending at 8:00 AM. You may pick up your T-shirt and number prior to the race at the Hooksett Public Library: Thursday, September 20, 2012 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, September 21, 2012 4:00 to 7:00 PM. 
 
Funds raised from this event will go to the Hooksett Kiwanis activities and events sponsored by them. These events include Manchester Central High School Key Club, Hooksett Cawley Middle School Builders Club, Manchester Hillside Middle School Builders Club, trail improvements in Hooksett, Kids Kloset, Hooksett Community Food Pantry, etc.
